The World's First, really contact-less, hand held optical micrometer to check wires, cables  and other similar products.


HWS.2 - Handy Wire Scanner
 is a fully portable optical micrometer for non-contact measurement of wires, cables and other similar products.

Developed by Aeroel with LED and CCD technology, it uses 2 crossed linear sensor to automatically compensate positioning errors (Patent pending).

Thanks to a powerful single chip microprocessor, the micrometer is linearized and compensated to obtain the maximum precision in the entire field of measurement, regardless of an accurate positioning of the wire.

The measurement is started by pressing the trigger and takes only a few seconds, the display provides the operator a ‘3D’ visualization to place the wire in the useful measurement area and displays the measurement result. All measurements are saved in the memory of the scanner, associated with the date, time and the number of machine: through the integrated Wi-Fi or a USB cable, data can be downloaded to any PC. 

Through WI-Fi it is possible to visualize and collect in real time the measurements, graphically displaying the trend of the lines.The battery is charged via the USB connector with the supplied power supply; battery life, with micrometer always active, is approximately 4 hours.

The scanner has been designed to fit into a special holder to be fixed on the machine, the holder contains a tag that identifies the machine and which is read by the instrument at the time of measurement.

The support allows to easily and quickly place the scanner, also for the measurement of moving products and it guarantees maximum precision of measurement.It is therefore possible, mounting a support on each line, periodically monitor the production of all machines with just one micrometer!

Various accessories are available, and also a PC software for displaying and managing measurement data (via Wi-Fi or USB).

XPLORELINE

Use the Xactum Intelligent Laser Micrometers as on-line diameter gauges, in the Xploreline configuration: with no other instrument can you measure diameters so quickly, so accuratley and so easily.

The XLS gauges are programmed with a dedicated software and are completed with a display unit and a remote control: using such a measuring “system” you can monitor the diameter on-line, measuring fast moving products very accurately, to achieve 100% check and to avoid any dimensional non-conformity.

Our Performance

WIRELINE uses a dual axis laser gauge to measure the diameter and the ovality of any kind of wire during the drawing process, such as:

  • steel wire for tyres
  • copper wire for electric cables,
  • CO2 welding wire.

 

  • It provides reliable gauging of diameters from 0.04 to 32 mm: display resolution of 0.1 µm and accuracy better than 0.5 µm can be achieved.
  • It checks the wire tolerance and stops the drawing machine when die wearing exceeds the pre-set limit.

Our Performance

WIRELAB uses a dual axis laser gauge to measure the diameter and the ovality of products like:

  • drawn wire, ferrous and non ferrous,
  • electric cable
  • enameled wire
  • optical fibres

Super-Wirelab version can also be used for the control of rectangular-section products (eg. metal strip).

  • Measurable diameters range from 0,04 mm up to 32 mm, with a resolution up to 0.1 µm

Use the Xactum Intelligent Laser Gauges as bench-top micrometers, in the Table-Gauge configuration: with no other instrument can you measure diameters so quickly, so accurately and so easily.

The XLS gauges are programmed with a dedicated software and are completed with a display unit, a remote control, fixturing to hold the part and a base-plate for bench-top use: using this “Table-Gauge” assembly you can, in a few seconds, check the diameter, roundness and the concentricity of ground or turned parts, to an accuracy that before only could be obtained in a metrology room, by using much more expensive equipment and specialized personnel.
